Continuing its mission to build strong international partnerships beyond Europe, the AIdesignTEX project took another important step forward with a visit to the University of Moratuwa — one of the leading technological universities in Sri Lanka, recognised for its strong focus on engineering, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Building bridges beyond Europe, the AIdesignTEX project continues to expand its international collaboration network. As part of these efforts, a delegation from Łódź University of Technology visited the University of Peradeniya to explore new opportunities for academic and research cooperation.

Prof. Monika Malinowska-Olszowy and Dr Eng. Anna Bacciarelli-Ulacha participated in the 13th National IPOK Conference – Installations for Municipal Waste Processing (Instalacje Przetwarzania Odpadów Komunalnych) held in Wisła, representing Łódź University of Technology within the framework of the AIdesignTEX project.

Dean Prof. dr hab. inż. Katarzyna Grabowska participated in the international panel discussion "Empowered Women – Sustainable Change", held as part of the 22nd Congress of the Soroptimist International of Europe. The event brought together leaders, experts, and practitioners from across Europe to discuss the role of women in driving sustainable, technological, and social change.

On 25 September 2025, the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV), in cooperation with Łódź University of Technology (TUL), organised an international workshop entitled "Circular Economy and New Technologies Applied to the Textile Sector" within the framework of the AIdesignTEX project, funded by the European Union.
The workshop was led by Prof. Ricardo Reier, Director of Ávila Business School (UCAV), as the main organiser.

Two researchers from the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design at Lodz University of Technology (TUL), Iwona Nowak and Katarzyna Pieklak, carried out a long-term visit at the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV) in Spain within the framework of the AIdesignTEX project.

We are pleased to share another media feature highlighting the pressing issue of textile waste management. The European project AIdesignTEX, led by Lodz University of Technology, was presented in the national TV program "Zielona Polska" as an example of how AI and machine learning can support circular solutions for the textile sector.

On June 16, the AIDesignTex team took part in ŁÓDZKIE SPLOTY BIZNESU 2025 – ENTREPRENEUR’S DAY.
We were proud to join the Round Table “Weaving the Future” – an open dialogue space dedicated to shaping a sustainable textile & apparel cluster in the Łódź region.

Our participation in the ETP Textile Conference 2025 in Alcoy was truly inspiring! It provided valuable insights into upcoming regulations, ecodesign strategies, and digital tools for sustainable textiles.

On January 23, 2025, during the InnovaTex 2025 conference in Łódź, the "Round Table - IT Innovations in Textile Production" session, organized within the AIdesignTEX project, gathered industry leaders, government representatives, associations, and researchers to discuss sustainable textile production.

Our final isit of the year took us to the Catholic University of Avila (UCAV), where we had the opportunity to discuss UCAV's role in the AIdesignTEX project, analyze the work packages involving our partner, and plan upcoming training sessions and seminars.

The team from Łódź University of Technology had the privilege of visiting Ghent University, our esteemed partner in the AIdesignTEX project. It was an enriching and memorable experience that left us inspired by the innovative work being done at their institution.

Soon, our first journey to our partner institutions begins! The team from Łódź University of Technology is heading to the University of Stavanger to gain insights into their path to success in higher education as part of the AIdesignTEX project.

With great enthusiasm, we announce the official launch of the international AIdesignTEX project! On October 4, 2024, the kick-off meeting for the project took place in the Alchemium building at Łódź University of Technology.
