Dean Prof. dr hab. inż. Katarzyna Grabowska participated in the international panel discussion "Empowered Women – Sustainable Change", held as part of the 22nd Congress of the Soroptimist International of Europe. The event brought together leaders, experts, and practitioners from across Europe to discuss the role of women in driving sustainable, technological, and social change.

The Congress took place on 23–25 October 2025 at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre and, for the first time in its history, was hosted in Poland. Held under the motto "Soroptimists Impact Sustainability", the Congress highlighted the importance of collective action for the future of women, technology, and the planet.

The programme featured inaugural speeches and sessions dedicated to young female leaders, as well as a sustainability-focused thematic block with Pia Heidenmark Cook, former Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA. Numerous panels and parallel sessions addressed key topics such as women's rights, gender equality, the role of women in sustainable development, and the future of cities.

Panel Contribution and Key Themes

A central element of the programme was the panel "Empowered Women – Sustainable Change", which brought together experts from across Europe to exchange experiences and best practices related to strengthening the role of women as leaders of social, technological, and environmental transformation.

The second day of the Congress focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential to support equality, safety, and inclusivity. Among the speakers was Caitlin Kraft-Buchman, leader of the global Alliance for Inclusive Algorithms. Discussions addressed the role of AI in education, healthcare, urban spaces, and the prevention of digital violence.

The participation of Dean Prof. Katarzyna Grabowska in this prestigious international forum highlights the active engagement of women in shaping sustainable change and confirms their key role in building a responsible, innovative, and inclusive future.
