About AIdesignTex project
The AIdesignTEX project's general objective is to establish a long-term partnership between TUL and high-ranking counterparts among EU peers through networking activities. The networking and partnership implemented in the project will raise the institutional research and administration profile of TUL in the textile production design processes by utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to develop textiles that are more easily recyclable or biodegradable.
Focusing on sustainability and circular economy principles, AIdesignTEX centers around a collaborative research micro-project to optimize textile production processes. This includes reducing water and energy consumption, incorporating environmentally safe dyes and finishing agents, and designing textiles for improved recyclability and extended lifespan. These initiatives aim to benefit not only the textile industry but also the environment by reducing pollution and promoting sustainable practices.
The project addresses key challenges in the textile industry, such as the complexity of recycling textile products and the environmental impact of traditional production methods. By fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among partners, AIdesignTEX aligns with the EU's Circular Economy Action Plan, the Green Deal Initiative, and the Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles. Its expected outcomes include advancing research, raising awareness of sustainable practices, creating circular economy loops, and enhancing industry competitiveness across partner regions in Poland, Belgium, Spain, and Norway.
