Sofie Moorkens

Sofie Moorkens, a textile engineer with industry experience in sustainability and material testing. She manages industry services, quality control of the ISO 17025 lab, and oversees the daily follow-up of the AIDesignTex project.

Sofie Moorkens obtained her master’s degree in textile engineering in 2011 at Ghent University. After working several years in the industry as a research engineer, focussing on sustainability, comfort and polyurethane, she joined CTSE in 2020. Sofie is responsible for the services to the industry with a focus on physical and chemical testing of textiles and related materials. In addition, she is in charge of the quality management of CTSE’s ISO 17025 accredited service lab.
