R.M. Chandima Ratnayake

Professor at University of Stavanger

He is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stavanger. His research interests and teaching activities focus on sustainable engineering solutions, with a particular emphasis on the application of circular economy principles in waste management, product development, logistics, and industrial operations. He brings extensive experience in the use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and lean manufacturing to enhance industrial efficiency and sustainability.

He has authored over 200 scientific publications, including journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, which have garnered more than 1,200 citations (h-index: 19). He has successfully supervised five PhD projects and is currently overseeing nine ongoing doctoral studies. His interdisciplinary expertise spans sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, textiles, offshore oil and gas, and renewable energy systems (e.g. wind turbines).
